The story of Mag and Maureen: an unconventional mother-daughter relationship’s ordeal. The morbid intertwining of a woman and a forty-something spinster, somewhere in Ireland or anywhere in the world, beyond the ends of the world. A place that everyone leaves behind—for England, America, anywhere. But they don’t just leave for survival; they also leave because they know that any hope for love or human connection would endanger the mother and daughter’s fatal solitude, fraught with hatred, which ties them together. Life-altering messages and letters are revealed. Meanwhile, the TV is on. And behind the walls, there is the uncanny excitement of barren, eventless vegetation. This is followed by cruelty that culminates in tragedy.
