dance-show in two parts
A true classic comes to life in the latest production by the country’s first modern ballet company at the Debrecen Outdoor Theater!
“One for all, and all for one!” – There’s no more famous motto than the salute of the musketeers! The heroes of Dumas’ romantic novel, The Three Musketeers, have been capturing our imaginations for nearly two hundred years. The adventures of the four legendary swordsmen — Athos, Porthos, Aramis, and D’Artagnan — and the intrigues of the masters of deception, the power-hungry Cardinal Richelieu and the wicked yet beautiful Milady, have thrilled generations. Men love it because the heroes embody the noblest masculine virtues; women love it because these virtues make their hearts beat faster; teenage boys admire the musketeers and want to be just as tough; teenage girls dream of meeting boys like them!
Fencing, especially the theatrical and visually captivating kind, is based on the intricate choreography of complex footwork and arm movements. So it’s no surprise that this story is made for the dance stage!
The outstanding dancers of the Pécs Ballet, who also possess strong acting skills, together with their experienced and creative production team, have created another passionate and entertaining show. Through the universal language of dance — which everyone can understand — they bring to life the romantic tale of The Three Musketeers at the Nagyerdő Outdoor Stage in Debrecen.
Director-Choreographer: Balázs Vincze, recipient of the Harangozó Award and Meritorious Artist
The Three Musketeers was realized as a co-production between the Pécs Ballet and the Pécs National Theatre, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation and the National Cultural Fund.
